A few streets further on from the Omonoia area is one of the oldest neighborhoods of Athens, Psirri, that once, in oldest times, was the area for all the cobblers and shoes repairers and for shops selling their necessary tools and machine parts. Now it is only full of cafés, restaurants, bars and quaint little boutiques. Small narrow pavements, small houses, shops with handmade clothes and artifacts from young Greek designers all juxtaposed higgledy-higgledy under the sun.
